John Travolta has arrived in Australia for yet another trip Down Under.
The Hollywood star touched down in Sydney via his private plane on Wednesday afternoon, which the trained pilot flew from New Zealand’s Queenstown Airport that morning.
As he landed on the tarmac at Sydney Airport, the 70-year-old waved at photographers and waiting ground staff from the cockpit of his aircraft, believed to be worth $US30 million.
His daughter Ella Bleu, 24, was later seen alighting from the plane as staff tried to shield her from photographers with umbrellas.
It’s believed the actor’s son’s Benjamin, 13, is also on the trip.
It is not yet known why Travolta is visiting our shores this time, but the actor has been to Australia more than 10 times over the years – he even considers Australia to be “my second home”.
The actor has long been a worldwide ambassador for Qantas, and his affinity to Australia can be traced back to his friendship with the late Olivia Newton-John, who he had met on set of Grease in 1978.
Travolta’s Aussie trip comes weeks after he and daughter Ella went on a father-daughter vacation to Paris to watch the Olympic Games.
“Hey, I’m on my way to the Olympics,” Travolta said in a video montage of their trip, which he later shared on Instagram.
“Flying to Paris, eight hours and we’ll see you when we get to Paris.”
In the clip, the actor could be seen wearing a black beret as the French song Samba Saravah by Pierre Barouh played in the background before snaps of his vacation flashed on-screen.
The photos featured him and Ella watching American gymnast Simone Biles compete for gold and later sitting at Roland-Garros to catch Novak Djokovic in the men’s tennis final against Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz.
They also watched the beach volleyball competition before the montage cuts to pics of the pair out and about in the City of Love, having dinner.
“This was our father-daughter trip to Paris for the Olympics!” Travolta had caption the video.
The star shares Ella and Benjamin with his late wife Kelly Preston. The actress died in 2020 at the family’s home in Clearwater, Florida, two years after she was diagnosed with breast cancer, which she had not made public. She was 57.
The family was also struck with tragedy in 2009 when their eldest son Jett died aged 16 from a seizure during a family holiday in the Bahamas.
