Suri Cruise has sent a strong message to her estranged father, Tom Cruise, dropping his surname during her high school graduation in New York as her father attended a Taylor Swift show in London.
The 18-year-old graduated from New York’s illustrious “Fame” school, LaGuardia High School, on Friday.
In the school’s graduation pamphlet, she was listed as “Suri Noelle” not Suri Cruise. Noelle is her mother Katie Holmes’ middle name.
Suri looked thrilled as she posed with Holmes for photos outside a brick building before heading into the United Palace Theatre, located in the Washington Heights neighbourhood of New York City.
Meanwhile, Cruise was all smiles at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour show in London Saturday night the day after daughter Suri’s high school graduation in New York just hours prior.
The star looked gleeful at Wembley Stadium as he traded friendship bracelets with fans ahead of the singer’s run of sold out shows in London.
The 61-year-old actor sat among A-list attendees including Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, Hugh Grant and Barbie director Greta Gerwig.
Prince William took two of his children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte to Swift’s show on Friday.
Suri is expected to attend Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.
She revealed her big decision in a TikTok posted by one of her classmates.
In the video, which has since been taken down, Suri wore a sweatshirt from the university for “LaG commitment day.”
While she has yet to reveal what she will be studying, she is reportedly “leaning towards” getting a degree in fashion.
Last week, Suri headed to her senior prom with friends and a date.
Suri is the most recent celebrity offspring to drop her famous father’s name. Last month, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt filed a court petition to legally drop the name “Pitt”.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s daughter filed the legal paperwork on her 18th birthday. Sources told NBC News in the US she now wants to go by the name Shiloh Jolie.
