Glamour WAG Mardi Dangerfield plans to alter her gorgeous plum Georgia Young Couture gown from last night’s Brownlow to wear to the Geelong best and fairest awards night.
Conscious of sustainability in fashion, the wife of 2016 Brownlow medallist Patrick Dangerfield, said: “Outfit repeating is so undervalued.”
“This year, we’re talking about sustainability and fashion and we’re going to alter it, which will be cool, I think,” she says.
“To wear this dress to a Best and Fairest would be a bit much, but if we can bring it back, it will be perfect.
“I’m sure Georgia is going to do something great with it.”
“We’d be silly to wear it once if I have a second opportunity to wear it to another formal event.
“So much work goes into them, so much time and energy and ideas, to not be seen again.”
Young said she was excited to restyle the gown for Mardi to wear again.
“We’re going to add a centre front slit and take the train off. We’re going to remove the sleeves and create a single shoulder and add a cool belt,” Young says.

Last year, the Melbourne dress designer gave away all of the Brownlow dresses she made and she plans to give another one away this year.
“I’m going to give one of them away. We’re going to decide based on what comment is the most convincing on social media,” she says.
“I want it to go to someone who loves it and is going to wear it.”
