The Bundaberg family of billionaire farmer Lex Greensill has broken its silence on the book that claims to track his company’s international connections, and rise and fall. Here is the latest.

‘Very extensive links’ between David Cameron and Lex Greensill

She is the glamorous vocalist and musician who captured the heart of one of Australia’s most successful and wealthy farmers.

Like the rest of the Greensill family, Suellen Cusack-Greensill, who is married to Peter Greensill, has remained tight-lipped about the controversial fallout of brother-in-law Lex’s company’s spectacular rise and fall. Until now.

Upon the release of new book Pyramid of Lies. in July 2022- a book that purports to be the true story of Lex Greensill and the rise and fall of Greensill Capital, Mrs Greensill took to social media to condemn it.

Greensill Capital was a UK-based supply chain finance company owned by Mr Greensill, Mrs Greensill’s brother-in-law.

According to Pan Macmillan, Pyramid of Lies, written by international financial journalist Duncan Mavin, tells the story of an intricate financial web created by Lex Greensill after making “increasingly risky loans to fraudulent companies using other people’s money”.

In 2020, Lex’s brother Peter Greensill snagged a spot on the Australian Financial Review’s Young Rich List, when his net worth was estimated to be about $788 million.

Peter Greensill had already built his wealth as a successful watermelon farmer, but it’s believed his name appeared on the list after he exchanged equity in his farm for a percentage of Greensill Capital.

After the NewsMail wrote an article on the book, which also alleges links to Vladimir Putin, David Cameron and global special forces, Suellen Greensill shared the post to her public Facebook page, stating she would be boycotting a local business in the process.

“The only thing that really disappoints me (other than a book full of lies and propaganda) is the fact that Dymocks are selling it,” Mrs Greensill posted.

“All those years of supporting a local business. You’ve lost a customer.”

Suellen Cusack-Greensill has made a public comment about best-selling book, Pyramid of Lies, which claims to track the rise and fall of Greensill Capital.

Facebook user Sal Brettell jumped to the defence of Mrs Greensill, saying she would also “never buy a book from there again”.

“Considering the Greensill family are a well respected family who give back in so many ways to Bundaberg and the surrounding areas and support so many of our local events, businesses and families. What a disgrace,” she wrote.

“As for the book, what a complete crock of s--t.”

Dymocks Bundaberg is not the only bookstore selling Pyramid of Lies; e-commerce giant Amazon has also listed Pyramid of Lies as a #1 Bestseller.

The new release is being stocked at a number of other book stores, including Angus & Robertson, Booktopia and QBD Books, as well as a number of online stores, and is available as an audiobook on Audible and GooglePlay.

The NewsMail reached out to Mrs Greensill for further comment, but she declined.
