Fashion trailblazer Bec Judd has turned back the clock, stunning in another red dress at the AFL Hall of Fame night at Crown.

Eighteen years ago Judd wore a revealing head-turning red frock to the Brownlow that changed her life and in turn elevated the Melbourne social landscape.

She has been a red carpet knockout ever since wearing the daring dress by Ruth Tarvydas in 2004, with the mum of four stunning in an off the shoulder, cut out Effie Kats number on Tuesday night.

Judd’s husband, two time Brownlow Medal winner Chris, was inducted into the AFL Hall of Fame last year but due to Covid wasn’t presented with his honour at a function.

He reflected then on how the 2004 Brownlow Medal became a life-changing moment for him and Bec.

That night he won the game’s highest individual honour at age 21 and Bec became “public property” after stepping out in the infamous red dress.

The couple was splashed across newspapers and in media around the country.

“It was a wonderful night, it was an incredible honour,” Judd said.

“Very strange at the time to be a third year player and still a baby in an AFL footballing sense. To be hit with that sort of an award.

“It did feel like a before and after event. Some wonderful opportunities opened up from it. Life was just very different.

“Things around privacy, having a partner who was seemingly public property, as well, there were a lot of things to get used to and my memories are of a really special night but an exclamation point between life before that and life after that as well.”

Judd, who also won the 2010 Brownlow Medal, was surrounded by other footy greats as new Hall of Members were inducted on Tuesday night.

Some of those in the room included Hall of Famers Kevin Sheedy, Nathan Buckley, Jonathan Brown, Simon Black, Tony Shaw, Stephen Kernahan, Robert DiPierdomenico, Jason Dunstall and Dean Cox.
