Pop princess Kylie Minogue hits the red carpet before performing at the Logies saying she loves being back in Australia

AFTER a tumultuous year, our pop princess Kylie Minogue hit the Logies red carpet saying it was wonderful to be home in Australia.

POP Princess Kylie Minogue said it was wonderful to be home in Australia.

“I feel I breathe differently,” she said. “I love London and it’s been my base ... but it’s so good to be back.”

Wearing a Roberto Cavalli gown, Kylie said the Logies and the red carpet had changed so much since she last attended.

“Any red carpet I get really anxious, there is a lot of excitement and adrenalin and nerves, but it feels amazing to be back,” The Voice mentor said.

Minogue said she had fond memories of Logies past.

“1988 was a big one for me, or ‘89 if I’ve got my dates right, I don’t recall it being this big and snazzy.”

Minogue was hugely popular on the red carpet with other guests.

Another international musical guest, soul star Jason Derulo sent nuptial well wishes to his former love Lara Bingle.

Derulo, who reportedly dated Bingle briefly three years ago, said he was happy she had found love and was possibly married to Sam Worthington.

“Congratulations to Lara. That’s amazing,” Derulo said on the red carpet.

“She’s a great girl. We’ll always be friends.”

Derulo is touring nationally this month and has not been in contact with Bingle during his latest visit.

In a 2011 interview with US broadcaster Ryan Seacrest, Derulo said: “We see a bit of each other. She is someone I care about.”

He said he was excited to perform at the awards ceremony last night.

“There is a real sense of camaraderie here. It doesn’t feel like a competition,” he said.

“I want to start the show with a party. I’m hoping we have a good time.”

Derulo said his new songs were about staying head of the curve.

“I try to stay in tune with myself and not follow the trends that are happening,” he said. “I want to stick out on the radio.

He recently released a new album, Talk Dirty.
