Today and Sunrise rivals have awkward Logies red carpet run-in

THE breakfast TV wars have never been more fierce, so it’s no surprise the Today and Sunrise teams’ Logies run-in was pretty uncomfortable.

THE breakfast TV wars have never been more fierce, so it’s no surprise things got pretty awkward when the Today and Sunrise teams bumped into each other at the Logies.

Dressed in their red carpet best, Lisa Wilkinson, Karl Stefanovic, David Koch and Samantha Armytage kept conversation polite during their televised run-in, but the atmosphere appeared to be fairly uncomfortable.

Perhaps it was because the shows' ratings competition became a legal war last year — or maybe it was because Kochie called the Today hosts a “bunch of losers” on live TV just days ago.

Despite that, the group posed for a smiling photograph before Kochie and Karl went in for an overly-enthusiastic hug and kiss — with even Karl commenting: “That was awkward ... You’re a terrible kisser.”

“We’ve been with each other in pyjamas in the past,” Kochie reminded him, before Lisa quickly extended an invitation to Sam.

“You and I haven’t — that’s something we need to fix,” she told the Sunrise host.

“Yes we haven’t, well ... let’s have a drink later on,” Sam replied politely.

Despite a smiling Lisa exclaiming “See? Who said there’s a breakfast TV war?” during the exchange — we’re definitely not convinced.
