Gold Logie winner Larry Emdur has shared a final message almost 24 hours after his win.
In a video shared to social media, wearing Ugg boots and a comfortable matching tracksuit, the television personality said Sunday was “the best night” of his life.
“I’m trying to get back to all these messages, I’ve literally got hundreds and hundreds of texts,” he told the camera while sitting on the couch.
“As I reply to 20, I get 50 more, and there’s hundreds of emails that I’ve been trying to get back to.
“And my feet are so sore, my fingers are sore from texting, I’ve got the worst headache.”
The 59-year-old also said he had a sore behind after getting a tattoo earlier Monday morning.
Emdur had promised he would tattoo his fellow nominees’ initials on his buttocks, live on Seven’s The Morning Show.
He did just that on Monday morning.
“My arse is so sore from the tattoo,” he continued on in the Instagram video.
And in one final joke, he said he had good news: “I finally, finally got the twins to sleep”.
The video then panned to his two awards – including the Gold Logie – laying under a blanket.
In the lead up to the award show, Emdur had told multiple news outlets about his tattoo pledge, stemming from a lack of confidence he would win from his first ever Logie nomination.
After four decades on the screen, the television personality took home the top award on Sunday night.
But early Monday morning, Bondi Ink tattooist Zach was awaiting the Logie winner in the studio where he did the tattoo on live television.
Co-host Kylie Gillies laughed along as Emdur was inked, telling the audience: “He’s actually shaking”.
Emdur joked as he struggled through the segment: “Where’s Zach’s thumb?”
He spent 30 minutes under the needle before showing off the final product to the audience – the outline of a Logie trophy with the nominees’ initials
“I love this tattoo. This for me will remind me forever of a beautiful night,” Emdur told his viewers.
Those who lost out on the top gong this year include Andy Lee, Asher Keddie, Julia Morris, Robert Irwin, Sonia Kruger and Tony Armstrong.
Irwin’s nomination made him the youngest male ever to be nominated for the prestigious Gold Logie.
