Craig McLachlan’s creepy presenting the biggest Logies WTF moment

“IT’S not your moment, Craig,” co-presenter Miranda Tapsell told McLachlan, pushing him away from the microphone. Cringe.

LOGIES veteran Craig McLachlan provided one of the most awkward moments of last night’s ceremony, coming over like a ‘drunk uncle’ while presenting an award with actor Miranda Tapsell.

The former Gold Logie winner was presenting the award for Most Outstanding Supporting Actress, but spent more time reflecting on his own Logie wins.

“It’s a good feeling winning a Logie — in fact, it’s a feeling I know. I won the Gold Logie in 1990,” he announced.

Can’t you just feel the love.

“Really? I was like, three, in 1990,” Tapsell shot back.

As their ‘bit’ played out — McLachlan hamming it up as the vain older star obsessed with his former glories, and Tapsell as the younger talent wanting to get on with the job at hand — the early audience laughs faded.

McLachlan tried to introduce footage of more of his former Logie wins, while Tapsell pushed him away from the mic and told him, “It’s not your moment, Craig.”

As the camera suddenly cut to several of the nominees, the faces said it all:

As Tapsell finally started to read out the list of nominations, McLachlan suddenly let out a weird, high-pitched laugh, then wrapped his arm tight around her. It was... super-weird:

It was clearly all a bit, but like several other presenters that evening — we’re looking at you, Fitzy and Wippa and your clunky ‘celebrity lookalikes’ segment — it was a bit that didn’t really work for viewers at home:
