Celia Pacquola says Channel 7 ‘threw her under the bus’

Channel 7 wasn’t thrilled when Celia Pacquola swore during the Logies broadcast, but she says the network is to blame.

Comedian Celia Pacquola has explained why she dropped an F-bomb on stage during the Logies broadcast, and has revealed she was ‘spoken to’ by a Channel 7 rep afterwards.

If you weren’t watching the Logies on Sunday night, Pacquola was presenting an award with fellow comedian Luke McGregor when she noticed there was an error on the autocue.

“The nominees for ‘Best Lead Actor in a Drama’ are … that’s incorrect … no it’s not that (category), it’s the ‘Best Drama Program,’” Pacquola said on stage.

She could then be heard saying, “someone at Channel 7 has f**ked me” as a pre-recorded package of the nominees quickly started playing.

The F-bomb elicited huge laughs from the celebs in the room, and cracked up viewers watching at home.

On Thursday, Pacquola appeared on KIIS FM’s Will and Woody and opened up about the memorable moment.

“I shouldn’t be so proud of that, I really shouldn’t, (but) I am,” she told the radio hosts.

“It was funny and it wasn’t my fault. I just read the thing.”

The Thank God You’re Here host hinted the F-bomb didn’t go down well with Channel 7, with a network rep having a quiet word with her afterwards.

“I probably shouldn’t say … no one’s told me off, but someone brought it up with me,” she said.

“They just went, ‘hey, I work at Channel 7,’ and I was like, ‘sorry, but also, I don’t work for you!’” Pacquola laughed.

The comedian went on to blame Seven for the F-bomb, and jokingly suggested the network should be thanking her.

“They threw me out under the bus!” she said on KIIS FM. “I just read it (the autocue), and you’re welcome for me giving the broadcast a little bit of sizzle.”

Footage of Pacquola’s F-bomb went viral on Monday morning after the Logies, and the TV personality said people have been talking to her about it ever since.

“I’ve been getting messages … people are like, ‘we’re gonna have it on a T-shirt!’” she said.

“I’ve got a new catchphrase now,” Pacquola continued. “Which is weird, because I’ve just gotten used to people saying, ‘thank god you’re here’ when they saw me, and now I’ve got to get used to people going, ‘Celia, someone on Channel Seven has f**ked me.’”
