Karl Stefanovic plans to stay off the drink at the Logie awards

KARL Stefanovic hit the Logies red carpet solo, and lapped up the crowd while taking selfies as he revealed why he will be staying sober.

Today host Karl Stefanovic said he’s looking forward to life getting back to normal after his separation from estranged wife Cassandra Thorburn.

Stefanovic was flying solo at the Logie awards red carpet at Melbourne’s Crown Casino complex with new girlfriend Jasmine Yarbrough nowhere to be seen, believed to be overseas.

“I just hope someone out there can do something that is interesting to get the attention off me because it’s not worth it,” he said. “I’m the world’s most boring man and the quicker I get back to being that boring man, the better.”

Stefanovic told News Corp Australia he planned to “abstain from drinking for a bit” because his “body is a temple”.

The tongue-in-cheek comment comes after Stefanovic famously hosted the 2014 post-Logies Today show drunk.

“I’ve had my big nights at Logies before so I just want to see what happens when you’re sober at the Logies. There’s hours that went missing at previous Logies so this year I’ll be watching everything that happens,” he said.

The past 12 months have seen Stefanovic split with his wife of 21-years Cassanda Thorburn and move out of the family home on Sydney’s North Shore.

Stefanovic’s relationship with Yarbrough has been the focus of relentless media attention since the couple were snapped canoodling on a yacht on Sydney Harbour earlier this year.

Yarbrough currently lives in LA and is making arrangements to run her shoe business Mara & Mine remotely so she can spend more time with Stefanovic in Sydney.
