All eyes were on Taylor Swift when Olivia Rodrigo performed her brutal track Vampire at the Grammys.
But Swift seemingly showed she and Rodrigo are on OK terms at the 2024 music awards on Monday.
Cameras captured the Cruel Summer singer, 34, happily dancing along when Rodrigo, 20, performed the songin front of the live audience at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, despite long-running rumours the lyrics were directed at Swift.
Swift was, in fact, one of the few people standing up as the Bad Idea Right? singer was singing her track.
As Swift grooved along to the song while in a white Haute Couture gown from Schiaparelli, she also mouthed the lyrics.
Rodrigo, meanwhile, effortlessly sang her Grammy-nominated single while in a red dress and matching lip as blood dripped down her arms.
When the performance wrapped, Swift clapped enthusiastically, raising her glove-covered arms up high.
Rodrigo, for her part, returned the kind gesture by cheering for the pop superstar when she won her 13th Grammy for best pop vocal album – and announced she has a new album on the way.
Leading up to music’s biggest night, feud rumours were heightened again, with a source telling us recently that people behind the scenes were making an extra effort to avoid awkward seating arrangements.
“They’re both huge stars, so they’ll both be in the front row — but I can’t see them being too close together,” one well-placed music insider told Page Six Saturday.
It was believed that their friendship had become strained after Rodrigo – who once called Swift her “hero” — was forced to give the music icon and her collaborator Jack Antonoff songwriting credits for two songs off her album Sour.
Her songs Step Forward, 3 Steps Back and Deja Vu were found to have a likeness to Swift’s New Year's Day and Cruel Summer, respectively.
Rogrigo did little to quell whispers of a feud during a September interview with The Guardian.
Asked by the journalist if Vampire was about Swift, Rodrigo answered “How do I answer this?
“I mean, I never want to say who any of my songs are about. I’ve never done that before in my career and probably won’t. I think it’s better to not pigeonhole a song to being about this one thing.”
“It would have been super easy for Olivia just to answer that question by saying ‘No,’” said the music source. “She could have made it very clear.”
