JIMMY Fallon is late night TV’s Mr Nice Guy. He’s hilarious, but rarely at other people’s expense.

Next week the 42-year-old star of The Tonight Show will take on the mammoth challenge of hosting the Golden Globe Awards.

As we all know, one of the most memorable parts of a Hollywood awards show is the opening monologue when the host warms up the crowd with a series of punchy jokes.

To get an idea of Fallon’s type of humour, we’ve complied a list of some of his best jokes from the 2016 opening monologues from The Tonight Show:

“Donald Trump loves Christmas. It’s the one time of year where he can say, ‘Those are real, those are fake,’ and claim he was talking about Christmas trees.”

“I read that hoarding is getting worse in the US and affects over 15 million Americans. Of course, it might be higher now because I read that in a newspaper I’ve been saving since 2003.”

“Actress Dakota Johnson is currently filming two sequels to Fifty Shades of Grey and said, ‘I’ve been simulating sex for seven hours straight and I’m over it.’ While married women were like, ‘Try doing it for 30 years honey.’”
