Australian Open commentary team to feature Ariarne Titmus and Jessica Fox

Olympic swimming champion Ariarne Titmus is making a new career splash by joining the Australian Open commentary team.

Titmus will be part of Nine’s coverage, reporting on all the colour, alongside canoe gold medal winner Jess Fox.

“I have always been a tennis fan and having the chance to be at the Australian Open in this capacity is very exciting,’’ she said.

“The AO encompasses Australian culture and our love for sport as a nation. It will be a new and challenging experience being on the other end of the mic, but one I am grateful for.

“I can’t wait to support the Aussies in the way I have always been, there’s nothing like a home-ground advantage.”

Titmus’ father Steve is a sports presenter for Seven News in Brisbane.

“I’m looking forward to working alongside a great team and broadening my skills outside of the pool,’’ Ariarne said.

“Dad may have dropped me a few tips, but I’m backing myself in.

“I am so looking forward to being a part of the Nine Wide World of Sports team again for one of Australia’s premier sport events.”

US tennis legend John McEnroe is expected to make the trip to Australia to work with ESPN as well. Another American great, Jim Courier, has already appeared on Nine’s tennis coverage.
