The ballet is coming home, with a special virtual season amid coronavirus lockdowns.
The Australian Ballet launches At Home with Ballet TV on Sunday, which will be free to stream for the next five months.
Artistic director David McAllister said the season would begin with his own super lavish production of The Sleeping Beauty.
“We are thrilled to be able to continue to share the sprit-lifting joy of ballet,” McAllister said.
“These are challenging times for the world and ballet is something that people can turn to for escapism, fantasy and a sense of hope.
“Looking through the repertoire The Australian Ballet has performed, we are confident that we have hand-picked a stunning selection of works and we can’t wait to share these with our home audience though Ballet TV.”
The season includes cinematic quality filmed productions of The Sleeping Beauty followed by Cinderella, Romeo and Juliet and more to be announced in coming weeks.
