MELBOURNE’S winter blues are washed away in the warm Aegean Sea of Mamma Mia!
The feel-good musical opens at the Princess theatre this week and star Sarah Morrison said it was full of new features.

“We’re so lucky to have had an Australian creative team that has reinvigorated this show so it’s fresh, with a new look,” Morrison said.
“If you’ve seen it before, it still has the same well-loved story and songs but with a whole new take on the sets and choreography, so it’s a very different show and Melbourne has been the hotly anticipated season for us all.”
For Morrison, who plays Sophie, the show will always hold a special place because it is where she fell in love with her onstage fiance, Sky, played by Stephen Mahy.
“Neither of us saw it coming and we’re really lucky that we get to have such a fun time together on stage and have also found that personal space as well offstage,” she said.

“We’ll probably look back fondly on this time because we may not get to work together again.
“It’s more likely we’ll be in separate parts of the country or world in different shows so we’re enjoying it while it lasts.”
Mamma Mia! opens Thursday at the Princess Theatre.
