AC/DC fans desperate for a rock’n’roll damnation to come Down Under

AC/DC fans are praying their Melbourne tour dreams won’t be shot down in flames, ten years after the legendary rockers’ last Aussie tour.

Anticipation is growing that iconic rock band AC/DC will be in Melbourne as part of their world tour as an early Christmas present for hard core fans of the legendary group.

Rumours have been quietly swirling in Melbourne music circles in recent weeks that AC/DC will perform at the MCG in either late November or early December when their Power Up world tour finally hits Australian shores.

There has however been no official announcement about AC/DC touring Australia. There is no indication of Australian concert dates on the band’s website.

It has been tipped for months that the band was eyeing off Australian show dates.

If the band does come Down Under, it would be expected they would do shows in the major cities, Sydney, Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane, as per normal for a group of their huge status.

The band is currently on the European leg of their world tour. They have shows coming up in Prague, Berlin, Warsaw, Dusseldorf, Madrid, Imola, Tallinn, Gothenburg, Oslo, Paris and Karlsruhe before they play Edinburgh in Scotland in mid August.

The band has already completed the American leg of the tour.

With Brian Johnson on vocals and Angus Young in top form shredding lead guitar, AC/DC’s set list has been filled with crowd favourites including Thunderstruck, Highway To Hell, Dirty Deeds Done Dirty Cheap, High Voltage, You Shook Me All Night Long and TNT.

The band last toured Australia in 2015 when they performed at Etihad Stadium.

AC/DC formed in Sydney in 1973 and over more than 50 years the band has been one of Australia’s greatest rock music exports. Their fanbase crossed multiple generations.

Fans and reviewers in America hailed the Power Up tour as a celebration of AC/DC’s legacy and an awesome power rock experience for old and new fans.
