Two arrested following Greenvale Secondary College attack

Police have arrested two people following an attack that forced Greenvale Secondary College into lockdown and left two students injured

Footage has captured Greenvale Secondary students brawling with unknown attackers outside the school

A 16-year-old boy and a 22-year-old woman have been arrested over an alleged targeted attack that left two students injured and plunged a secondary school into lockdown.

Greenvale Secondary College was put into lockdown at school pick-up time on Wednesday October 8 when five people, thought to be three males and two females, attended the campus and began brawling with a male student.

Shocked onlookers filmed as a second male student ran into the fray to defend his mate, exchanging blows with three boys wearing hoods and masks.

Police said at the time it was believed that one of the offenders produced a machete at the scene but it was not used in the fighting.

Both male students sustained minor injuries while the five aggressors fled in a vehicle.

Students told the Herald Sun after the attack teachers ushered them inside the school where they remained in lockdown for over an hour.

On Monday, police arrested a 16-year-old boy and a 22-year-old Mickleham woman over the incident, both were released pending summons.

A 16-year-old girl handed herself over to the police on the night of the brawl, she was interviewed in relation to attempted armed robbery and affray and released pending summons.

A police spokeswoman said on Monday that the investigation into the attack “remains ongoing” and police are appealing for anyone “who may have filmed vision of the incident to please come forward.”
