Most young workers want to be the boss in five years

A big salary and balance is important to young workers but they also want to dominate the career ladder — and do it with in five years.

Young graduates want to be the boss within just five years of entering the workforce.

A big salary and work life balance was also important to young people according to new research global alliance of business schools.

Three quarters of survey respondents said they expected to have an executive level role within 10 years or less — with 25 per cent expected to achieve this level within five years.

The research was conducted by the CEMS Global Alliance of Business Schools.

Five tips to achieving a work-life balance

Dean of the University of Sydney Business School, Professor Greg Whitwell said the survey results showed people were young and ambitious.

“They crave quick career progression and the chance to make a genuine impact at an early stage,” he said.
