Immanuel, Loreto, Saint Ignatius’ and St Mary’s colleges among Adelaide private schools to release 2026 tuition fees

Adelaide private schools are announcing their fees for next year and some will surge by as much as eight per cent. See the list.

Adelaide private schools have begun releasing tuition costs for next year, and many are rising faster than inflation, including a western suburbs campus charging more than $25,000.

Immanuel College is among at least 15 independent or Catholic schools to have released 2026 fee schedules online.

The Novar Gardens college will charge $25,020 to put a student through year 12 next year, up 5.5 per cent on the 2025 fee.

The Advertiser has analysed available fee schedules at private schools charging at least $10,000 for year 12 tuition.

Loreto College Marryatville will charge $22,845 for year 12 next year, up 4.5 per cent.

Saint Ignatius’ College, in Athelstone, will charge $22,483, up 4.7 per cent.

The school with the greatest percentage increase to be released so far is St Mary’s College.

Year 12 tuition there will cost $11,525 next year, up 8.7 per cent from the $10,600 it charged in 2024.

That followed a 8.1 per cent rise the previous year.

Costs at other campuses will rise between 2.3 per cent (Rostrevor College in Woodforde) and 6.5 per cent (University Senior College in the CBD).

The most affordable school on the list is Emmaus Christian College, in South Plympton, which will charge $10,310 for year 12 next year.

Pembroke School, which is currently the most expensive in the state, is among the top schools still to release new fees schedules.

The Kensington Park institution overtook St Peter’s College as Adelaide’s most expensive private school in 2024.

This year Pembroke School charged $33,120 for year 12.

About 54,000 students are enrolled in independent schools across the state.

The Association of Independent Schools of South Australia (AISSA) says about 70 per cent of an independent school’s income is allocated to staffing costs.

Inflation, utility costs, operational expenses are also factored in.

About 52,000 students are enrolled at 101 schools under Catholic Education SA (CESA).

CESA has frozen fees at the majority of campuses for the past four years.
