Preschoolers are being made to wear face masks at an early learning centre in Melbourne.
Haileybury has directed “all students, staff and visitors” in its early learning centre to year 12, to wear masks indoors and outside when unable to maintain social distancing.
Masks must also be worn on Haileybury school buses.
Small children as young as three and up to the age of five attend the school’s early learning program.
“Any exemption from mask wearing requirements must be supported by a medical certificate,” the message reads.
“Please ensure students bring their own masks to school.”
The multi-campus school has more than 4000 enrolled students across Melbourne, according to the My School website.
Masks are not mandatory under State Government rules for children under eight, or students in year two or below in primary school.
Haileybury was contacted for comment.
