Aerial photos reveal dramatic changes to landscapes at some of Victoria’s most elite and expensive schools.

Images provided by location intelligence company Nearmap show major changes at many schools, including Melbourne Girls Grammar which opened in 1893.

The school has undergone rapid developments including the addition of updated classrooms and a new fitness and wellness hub.

Melbourne Girls Grammar also transformed two tennis courts into a multipurpose track and building for students from Year 5 to Year 12.

Spokeswoman Robyn McCutchan said the school had seen an increase in enrolments in the past 10 years.

“This meant that we have needed to optimise our learning and teaching spaces across our campuses and ensure our timetable is well managed to achieve effective occupancy rates,” she said.

“We are currently in the early stages of creating a strategic development framework for the further optimisation of our current facilities across the school,” she said.

“Out of this may arise the need for additional facilities, or refurbishment of existing spaces to accommodate our future student population.”
