Which lockdown restrictions could be eased on Sunday?

Melburnians are counting down the days until changes to restrictions are announced on Sunday. While details have been scant, health authorities have dropped several hints — from retail and hairdressing to the 5km limit and social gatherings, this is what to expect.

Removing 5km limit is in the mix to be changed on Sunday

The government is considering which Step Three changes — originally scheduled to come in once the 14-day case average dropped below five — to fast-track. Here are the predicted moves.

Removing 5km limit: On table

Outdoor public gatherings increased to up to 10 people: Likely

Home visitors of up to five people from one household: On table, some easing expected

Schools reopened for all students: Already announced, with years 8-10 to return from October 26

Work from home: No change

Restaurants and cafes allowed to have seated service — predominantly outdoors — with limits on group numbers (10), indoor patrons (20) and outdoor patrons (50): Could be limited changes

Retail reopens, including hairdressing and beauty services: Unlikely

Outdoor real estate auctions allowed, subject to gathering limits: Unlikely

Outdoor contact and non-contact sport for under 18s: Likely but could be limited

Outdoor non-contact sport only for adults, with gathering and density limits, outdoor skateparks open, outdoor fitness for 10 people: On table

Up to 10 people, including the couple and witnesses, at weddings: Unknown

Up to 20 people allowed at funerals: Unknown

Up to 10 people at outdoor religious gatherings, plus a faith leader are allowed, facilities open for private worship for households or household bubbles, plus a faith leader: Unknown

Outdoor entertainment venues and spaces open with density quotients: Unlikely

Accommodation venues open with caps per the household bubble: Unlikely
