The Victorian state budget will be delivered on November 24.
State treasurer Tim Pallas confirmed the date on Friday.
“This budget will continue our unprecedented support for Victorian families and businesses, and kickstart our economic recovery from the coronavirus pandemic,” he said.
“Our success in suppressing this virus mean we are ready to re-open and rebuild – and we will invest like never before in the infrastructure and services our state needs for the future.”
Premier Daniel Andrews has promised the budget will be the biggest in Victoria’s history, with massive investment in infrastructure to feature.
Mr Pallas said the budget would also continue vital support for Victorian families, businesses and jobs.
Mr Pallas has repeatedly said the recovery of Victoria’s economy could only begin once the state was on top of the coronavirus pandemic.
He said it was now time to re-open, rebuild and grow.
The budget would build on more than $13 billion already injected to fight coronavirus, he said.
That included more than $6.5 billion in direct economic support for Victorian businesses and workers.
More to come.
