EXPLAINER: NSW road map to reopening changes

NSW has announced changes to its roadmap, allowing residents in lockdown greater freedoms.

SCHOOLS

NSW: Kindergarten, year 1 and year 12 students return to face-to-face learning on October 18. All other years return one week later on October 25.

MELBOURNE: From October 6, on-site learning for VCE units 3/4, and final year VCAL and IB student.

From October 18, prep students return three days a week; years 1 and 2 return two days a week.

At 70 per cent fully vaccinated (predicted date October 26), all school students return to face-to-face learning at least part-time.

HOSPITALITY

NSW: Hospitality reopens with density limit for up to 20 people per booking. Allowed one person per 4 sqm inside and one person per 2 sqm outside

MELB: Pubs, clubs and entertainment venues can open to 50 fully vaccinated people outdoors with seated service only.

80 PER CENT DOUBLE

NSW: No change.

VICTORIA: Small venues can host up to 25 people if fully vaccinated before density limits apply

Indoor venues have a 150 fully vaccinated person cap with one person per 4sq m. Outdoors, there is a cap of 500 fully vaccinated people, with one person per 2sq m
