Can friends set up a TV in a public park to watch the grand final, if there are only 10 people from two households in the group?

Yes, but all restrictions should be strictly observed.

Please note, people from different households must remain 1.5m away from each other at all times.

Remember that washing hands, face masks and social distancing are the best protection against this virus and potentially another outbreak. Bathrooms should be cleaned and disinfected regularly.

If there are 20 friends from 4 households, can they gather in two groups near each other in a park if those groups stay 1.5m apart?

Victoria remains concerned about the circulation of virus in the community, this is why we have gathering limits of maximum of 10 people from two households.

Socialising in or next to larger groups increases the risk of transmission, as does sharing of food and drink.

We ask that people observe the intention of these principles and gather in groups of no larger than 10 people from two households.

Households can gather in their front yards but not with other households.

Can footy fans - gathered in groups of no more than 10 people from two households - hug in celebration? Can they high five?

We are in a global pandemic and always recommend that when people are mixing with people they do not ordinarily live with they always observe 1.5 metres of distance, wear a mask, wash their hands and do not hug.

Could the game be shown on the big screen at the MCG, Punt Rd Oval or GMHBA if groups of no more than 10 (or more in Geelong) remained in circles painted on the ground?

Major events can cause increased risks due to sharing of common facilities and the bringing together of people who do not live in the same household for a prolonged period. Events are not permitted in Melbourne at the moment, and in Geelong the limit is 50 people maximum, in groups of no more than 10 people.

This is official advice from the Department of Health and Human Services about how to celebrate the Grand Final on Saturday.
