Experts have urged couples to go on regular iso-dates while in lockdown to spark normalcy and intimacy in the relationship.
“An iso-date prioritises a person,” psychologist Sandy Rea says. “It’s easy to become immune, on a day-to-day basis in iso, to other people in the house. We take them for granted.
“An iso-date says: ‘I prioritise you.’ It also gives us an opportunity to get out of our pyjamas tracksuits, and set the table, get dressed up, put some make up on, and make a statement that, ‘You matter, and I want to be looking good for you.’
“The by-product is intimacy,” Ms Rea said. “It increases connectedness, belonging, and it enacts and puts in place some normalcy to our relationships.”
Fashion experts suggest, for women, a cocktail dress in a bold colour, with stilettos and statement jewels to complete the iso-date look.
Designer Narissara Hebbard says: “The perfect mix is fun and flirty, and paired back with sparkling jewels, it will transport you from the living room to the bar.”
Asher Rose, general manager of Charles Rose Jewellers, said: “Just because you are at home, doesn’t mean you can’t add a little, or a lot, of extra sparkle to your iso date night.”
He said bling will “inject that much desired element of glamour into your date night in.”
