Geelong Cats legend Cameron Mooney’s family targeted in anti-vaxxer crusade

The wife of Cats legend Cameron Mooney has hit back at a troll for targeting her family and using her daughter in a bizarre anti-vax rant.

Is this what Australia's traffic light travel list will look like?

An anti-vaxxer has used a picture of former Cat Cameron Mooney, his wife and daughter to hit out at Covid vaccines.

Instagram page Organic Collective took aim at the Mooneys this week after Cameron and his wife, Seona, got the Pfizer jab.

After getting the vaccine, Ms Mooney took to social media to share her experience and post a family picture.

That picture was used by the Organic Collective to accuse the Mooneys of bowing to “coersion (sic).”

“So sad that healthy people think they need to have an experimental jab because the government told them so,” the Organic Collective page posted.

“They have sadly bowed to coersion (sic) because they think this (getting the vaccine) will end lockdown.”

But Ms Mooney said getting the vaccine was “all by choice”.

“I am now the subject of some opinionated anti-vacc’er (sic) who has reposted my photo and has had a nice little dig at us — It’s also called Copyright Infringement (sic),” Ms Mooney posted on Instagram.

“We are far from being ‘guinea pigs’ & no I will not be “offering my beautiful daughter up for jab trials” (Organic Collective’s words).

“She doesn’t know us from a bar of soap yet seems to have a lot to say about us.

“I won’t have it. I am so tired of these trolls bringing people down on public forums. It’s disgusting.

“Take me down but bring my innocent kids into the mix & I will do what any parent would do: protect them.

“Little Franks had to come with us to the Dr, she is only 5 and we are in lockdown, our other 3 kids were still ‘in class’ at home.”

The Organic Collective, which has more than 3300 followers, has since deleted its post that contained the picture of the Mooneys.

The account has regularly shared content hitting out at Covid vaccines, lockdowns and the Victorian government’s response to Covid.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has said when Australia hits a Covid vaccination rate of more than 80 per cent, widespread lockdowns are likely to be replaced by lockdowns targeting Covid hot spots. Just 18 per cent of Australians are fully vaccinated.

The Organic Collective was contacted for comment but did not respond before deadline.
