Premier Daniel Andrews has received a negative Covid test after being forced into isolation after a high society party he attended was deemed an exposure site.

The Premier was tested on Thursday immediately after he received a text message advising him that a guest at Saturday’s party had tested positive for Covid.

Mr Andrews and his wife were both at the Elwood Bathers to celebrate the 50th Birthday celebrations of family friend Fiona Waller.

It is not known if Mr Andrews had any contact with the Covid-positive attendee.

But it was confirmed on Friday morning his PCR test had returned a negative result.

Mr Andrews began his summer holiday last Friday.

It is his first time away since returning to work in June following four months medical leave.

He was forced off work after a horror accident in which he fell down stairs that left him in intensive care with debilitating back injuries.
