Covid Melbourne lockdown: Victoria cases by suburb as exposure sites rise

While Victoria emerges from its fifth strict lockdown we reveal which suburbs are registering cases.

Victorian lockdown extended with no end date in sight

The daily rise in Covid cases has slowed right down, while the Boroondara cluster continues to top Victoria’s list.

Victoria has record seven cases yesterday — six locally acquired and one concerning mystery case.

There were 205 active cases across the state — 195 locally acquired and 10 caught from overseas.

Seven people are in hospital with the deadly virus and two cases are in intensive care, with one on a ventilator.

The highest cluster of cases is located in Boroondara (31), Hume (19), Glen Eira (16), Wyndham (13), Moorabool (12), Yarra (12), Brimbank (10), Port Phillip (8), Monash (8), Casey (6) and Moonee Valley (6).

Since Tuesday the DHHS has adjusted its reported number increases in Melbourne by three, Wyndham by two, Moorabool by two, Frankston by one, and Monash by one.

Cases has dropped in Boroondara by two, Banyule by two, Glen Eira by one, Yarra by one, Hobsons Bay by one, Mildura by one, Kingston by one, and Maribyrnong by one.

Meanwhile Mornington Peninsula now has no reported cases.

Regional Victoria

A person has tested positive for Covid in the Bass Coast with Gippsland Region Public Health Unit confirming the person was a close contact of an exposure site outside the region.

“As a result, this case presents no risk to the community as the person has been isolating throughout their infectious period,” they said.

It is unknown where the positive case lives in the Bass Coast.

Meanwhile two positive Covid cases initially recorded in Melbourne are now isolating in the Bendigo region, officials have confirmed.

A Victorian Department of Health spokesman said the cases, from Bendigo and Kyneton areas, were known to health authorities in connection to the Melbourne outbreak.

He said the two cases were previously reported, however, were only classed in the Bendigo region as the cases returned to their homes for the rest of their isolation.

“There are two previously reported positive cases currently in quarantine in the Bendigo Kyneton area,” he said.

According to the department, Mildura now has five cases registered to the region.

The first case was a Mildura man who attended the MCG and returned a positive test at the weekend.

Each of the three remaining cases are household contacts of the first case.

Meanwhile, Ballarat, Shepparton, Wodonga, Warrnambool, and Latrobe are all Covid free.

However Macedon has one case and Baw Baw has registered two.
