An antsy anti-masker has attempted to square off with a pair of Protective Service Officers after claiming complying with the latest coronavirus restrictions was in breach of his rights.
The confrontation was broadcast by Nick Patterson live on Facebook, showing him refusing to mask up before being arrested at a train station in Melbourne’s southeast.
In the clip, Mr Patterson is heard trying to recite parts of the Public Administration Act before attempting to explain to the PSOs how his stance is not an unlawful one.
“I haven’t committed any crime … it’s terrible what you’re doing is evil. It’s communist, it’s evil and it’s sad you’re having to do this,” he said.
Mr Patterson went on to claim he has an “exemption” to not wear a mask but wouldn’t provide any further information when questioned by PSOs.
The broadcast then shows the known conspiracy theorist be arrested by the pair for not providing proof of identification.
Mr Patterson, who runs a website called John 8, which speaks out against lockdown restrictions, hit the headlines last week for hosting a conspiracy theorist gatherings in Cranbourne.
The meetings, held despite Melbourne’s strict lockdown restrictions, have also featured Eve Black — who went viral for driving through a Melbourne checkpoint — as a guest speaker.
