Conspiracy theorist Australia One party mocked after losing badly in NSW election

Two of Australia’s best-known “cookers” are being mocked online after spectacularly losing their bid for the NSW upper house.

Top cookers’ outrageous plan revealed

Two of Australia’s best-known “cookers” have spectacularly lost their bid for the NSW upper house after a ferociously enthusiastic campaign.

Former special forces lieutenant turned political hopeful Riccardo Bosi and fellow high-profile conspiracy theorist Dave “Guru” Graham last month revealed their plans to contest the NSW state election with the dramatic promise that they would “tear the place down”.

The pair soldiered on despite the fact that their conspiracy theorist beliefs mean they frequently claim the government is not legitimate.

At the close of election day, Mr Bosi and Mr Graham’s party — which they call the Australia One party but, since it was never registered, appeared on the ballot as Group U — finished with just 0.74 per cent of the vote.

It meant fewer than 15,000 NSW residents voted for the group, according to the initial count.

“This will be a statewide election so we’re going to mobilise the entire state,” Mr Bosi said in his announcement of their campaign in February.

“Now the rest of Australia can’t vote, but they can certainly make this a national event, and in fact we’ve got a lot of support internationally, we’re going to make sure the entire world knows that this is the one story in Australia that they need to follow.

“Now why is that? Because we’re going to get into NSW parliament, but we’re not going to get in, in order to do deals with a corrupted and fetid polity that resides here. We have no intention of doing that, none.

“We are getting in to tear the place down, metaphorically of course.”

Given that Mr Bosi’s attempt to “mobilise the entire state” was unsuccessful, his plan to access insider information and “reveal the depravity of the crimes being committed by elected representatives” has presumably been put on hold.

Social media users mocked Group U for its stunning defeat.

“So they’re not gonna walk right in and tear it all apart?” one Twitter user asked.

“I’ll stick my neck out here but I believe more people drew d**ks on their ballot form today than voted for these cookers,” guessed a second.

“The goose is cooked,” joked a third.

Others, presumably supporters of Mr Bosi’s campaign, wildly claimed that the election was stolen. “Cheating cheaters that cheated. AGAIN. No-one voted Labor or Liberal. EVERYONE Voted for RICCARDO BOSI (The TRUMP of Australia) WAIT & SEE,” one supporter raged.

Often seen speaking at anti-vaccine and anti-government rallies, Mr Bosi was filmed last year telling his audience, “You are sovereign”.

He told the crowd that some people in Australian Security Intelligence Organisation, and other bureaucrats, were guilty of treason – though it wasn’t made clear why.

“Anybody who has taken an act of treason or sedition against the Australian people will be investigated, charged, if found guilty, punished,” he told the group.

“Now the punishment … this gets a lot of popular response … for the worst case of treason, the death penalty. Sedition? Life in prison without the possibility of parole.

“Any Mason who has been in the public sector of any sort … is guilty of at least sedition and at worst treason.”

Mr Bosi is a popular figure in the conspiracy theorist scene, often seen at rallies posing for photographs with enthusiastic followers.

Meanwhile, Mr Graham – who has also been described as a sovereign citizen, but who prefers the term “free thinker” – has amassed a following online with frequent live streams pushing for Australians to ditch government rule.

He made headlines earlier this year after an alleged feud with 2GB that landed him in court.

Mr Graham was charged with intimidation offences after he recorded himself bombarding staff at the station with phone calls, claiming he was snubbed by host Ben Fordham for a spot on the show.

Previously, Mr Graham has claimed that the Covid pandemic was not real and the government “needs to be removed”.
