A popular influencer has broken down after revealing that she feels like she’s starting over again at 25, despite her life looking aspirational from the outside.

Isabella Clarke has over a million followers on multiple social media platforms and is dating rapper 24kgoldn.

She also runs the self-care business Sunflower Avenue, which sells products that emphasise style and spirituality.

It would be easy to think her life is perfect, but Ms Clarke told news.com.au that she’s had a “really difficult” three years.

“It was kind of the opposite of what I thought my 20s would be like,” she explained.

Ms Clarke has had to deal with a slew of medical issues, including addressing her endometriosis and having surgery on her hand.

“Between all my medical issues and launching my business and getting into a new relationship and all the stresses that come with that it isn’t always fun,” she explained.

“I’ve had to move back in with my family because of all my health issues.”

The 25-year-old said her health took a dive partly because she’s just been “pretending” she was fine for so long, but in reality, she was living in daily pain, and it got to a point where she couldn’t ignore it any longer.

Ms Clarke said she’s also found herself “so angry” with the medical system because, for so long, her endometriosis was dismissed, and countless male doctors told her to take a Panadol instead.

“They’d just shut me down,” she said.

When she was finally diagnosed, she felt validated but also frustrated. It had taken her years to get basic healthcare, and by that point, the endometriosis had become really bad.

At the moment, she’s recovering and focusing on moving forward, and she’s taking the leap to move to America, but at times, even the good stuff can feel “overwhelming”.

She recently shared online the carnage that comes with moving offices and got tearful at various points as she packed, carried, and organised.

As she prepares to move, she’s also been selling stuff on Facebook Marketplace and not getting nearly as much as she originally paid for it.

The 25-year-old said that it was okay because she’s following the “out with the old in with the new” philosophy, but it’s also been tough because some men have been “creepy,” even showing up at her office to see if she was there.

Moving countries isn’t exactly simple. She’s got to sort everything out, from visas to wardrobe clear-outs and she even shared online she’s recently had a panic attack trying to organise everything.

On one hand, she’s excited about her new adventure, but on the other hand, her life doesn’t look like she thought it would.

“When I was 12 years old I thought I’d be married with kids by now,” she said.

Despite being one of Australia’s most successful influencers, she said she really thought she’d be “further along” in life by now.

The idea of moving to a whole new country to start again is a big deal, especially after she’s had such an intense few years.

She’s trying to think of it less as starting over and more as “reinventing” herself, and she’s excited, but that doesn’t mean it is easy.

It took her long enough to come to terms with needing to move back home when her health issues got too much to handle on her own.

The 25-year-old said she felt like she was going backwards when she moved back in with her family before this move, but in retrospect, that seems silly when she considers that has become the normal for young people.

“Every single one of my friends has moved back home in the last three years. For some reason, whether it was for six months or indefinitely,” she said.

Ms Clarke said that for some, it was so they could save for a house deposit, others just needed a reprieve from the cost-of-living crisis, but everyone found themselves back in their childhood bedrooms.

When she moved home, it was to rest and recover, and sometimes, you just need your family, but it was also a financial break.

“I was stupid with money! I was paying $1400 a week in rent, so I think it was good to make a better choice and ask for help.”

Ms Clarke said she’s become more aware of money since starting her business, and there are always “unexpected” costs popping up.

She was prompted to share even the fact that her business was moving warehouses so people online could see its backend and discover that it wasn’t glamorous.

“I wanted people to see the backend and kind of bring a bit of reality to social media even if it is putting my business out there,” she said.

She’s also wanted her followers to watch her journey to move overseas and realise that even when exciting and big things are happening in her life, that doesn’t mean she’s not “overwhelmed” and dealing with daily struggles.
