Getahead is an app that works like Tinder but for jobs, giving Aussies a chance to match with employers instead of potential dates, snagging careers instead of finding love.
The marketing team behind the app has created a very clever series on TikTok in which Australians are asked what they do for a living and how much they make.
It has been wildly successful, with Aussies enjoying a sticky beak into other people’s salaries and careers.

A midwife is a niche profession in which you train specifically to help women in labour, birth, and with newborns.
The woman explained that midwives can make anywhere from $60,000 to $70,000 with some eventually managing to make a low six-figure salary.
According to job search platform Seek, the average salary for midwives in Australia is between $85,000 and $100,000.
The highest average salary for midwives in Australia is in Brisbane, where it is $111,000, and the lowest is in Alice Springs, where the average is $74,000.
The woman explained that she works seven days a fortnight, with midwives often working a combination of days and nights.
This means pay can also depend on when they’re working and overtime rates.
The woman also revealed the personal reason she got into midwifery because her husband was diagnosed with terminal cancer.
To help deal with some of the pain, she decided she needed to do something else. She left her office job, returned to university, and retrained as a mature-age student.
“You’re never too old and it is never too late,” she said.
The woman said she has no regrets about her decision because she enjoys what she does now.
“It is a really empowering job. We get to empower women, and it fills up our cup as well,” she explained.
She said she gets satisfaction from knowing she’s made a “difference” in people’s lives, seeing babies come into the world, and “making women feel better about themselves.”
“It is really lovely,” she said.
Viewers were stunned by the salary so many midwives take home.
“Such low pay,” one wrote.
“The pay is so low,” someone else echoed.
Another said we needed to “pay” midwives more, someone said the pay is “disgraceful” and someone else said that she needs a “pay rise”.
There were also just so many people that found the woman’s personal story inspiring.
One called her an “angel” someone else said she had a “beautiful soul,” another said she sounded like just the kind of “amazing” midwife she’d want with her.
