‘They might have no idea’: Search for two NSW millionaires after two lottery tickets go unclaimed

The hunt is on for two lucky new Australian millionaires in one state after two lottery tickets went unclaimed.

Lottery officials are searching for two winners who have spent the day walking around completely oblivious of their new-found wealth.

The two people, both from New South Wales, bought tickets now one worth $1 million and $1.7 million respectively have not been in contact with the lottery office.

The only division one winning ticket from Saturday’s Lotto Strike draw was purchased at Quakers Court Newsagency in Sydney’s northwest.

“We just hope the winner comes forward soon and claims their prize,” Newsagency owner Jeff Shen said.

The other was bought at a Foodworks in Gundagai.

“This is such exciting news for a small country town like Gundagai. We’re definitely in awe this morning after realising that our outlet had sold an entry worth $1 million,” Foodworks supervisor Katie Morris said.

“The mystery winner could be anyone walking around the town, or it could’ve been a visitor passing by.”

The Lott spokesperson Anna Hobdell said they were working overtime to unite the winner with their prize.

“It’s likely our latest winner is going about their day as normal with no idea they’ve won division one,” she said.

The winning numbers in the Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw were 2, 4, 16, 27, 34 and 39, while the supplementary numbers were 11 and 18.
