Special Report: Drilling at the Western Queen Project has potentially revealed a new parallel high-grade system, boosting Rumble Resources’ confidence in the growth prospects of the 2Mt-plus resource.

Initial results from Rumble’s (ASX: RTR) current diamond and reverse circulation drilling program show multiple high-grade gold zones extending beneath the Western Queen South deposit and along the strike of the Western Queen Central deposit.

Of the three holes drilled so far, one intersected 5m at 5.02g/t gold from 216m and 16m at 1.32g/t gold from 264m, in what may represent a previously unknown high-grade mineralised lode at depth.

Another has confirmed continuation of the previously delineated gold mineralisation, also at Western Queen South. It intersected 29m at 1.75g/t gold from 202m, including 12m at 3.5g/t gold from 208m.

The third hole is currently being drilled to test a 60m extension down plunge of the known open high-grade gold lodes at Western Queen South.

Extending the resource

More drilling has now been planned to target the position of the newly recognised high-grade parallel lode below the Western Queen South deposit and confirm its potential.

Rumble will also test other potential high-grade shoots along the currently defined 2.7km mineralised zone within the mining leases, with an initial focus on the area between Western Queen South and the Western Queen Central area.

The latest results build upon Rumble's previous exploration which has pointed to strong continuity of high-grade gold down-plunge from the Western Queen Central and South deposits.

The high-grade system is characterised by moderate to shallow south-plunging lodes and the area between these two deposits remains largely unexplored, offering more opportunities for high-grade discoveries.

Zones at the Duke and Baron prospects are also open and unmined, further adding to Western Queen’s potential for new resource development.

Rumble will also review and update the mineral resource estimate after this current drilling phase.

Golden neighbourhood

The deposits at Western Queen are associated with a major geological zone similar to Spartan Resources’ (ASX:SPR) Never Never lode, which has a resource of 5.16Mt at 5.74 g/t gold (953,000oz).

Western Queen has historical production of 880,000 tonnes at 7.6g/t gold for 215,000oz. The project, whose current mineral resource is 2.1Mt at 2.42g/t gold for 163,000oz, remains completely open down plunge and along strike.

Western Queen is situated in the Yalgoo mineral field close to Mt Magnet, within a 100km radius of three gold processing mills. That would enable Rumble to move into production without the capital requirements and lead time required to build its own plant.

Rumble’s Managing Director and CEO, Peter Harold, said: “We are pleased with the initial results from the drilling at Western Queen which have confirmed the continuation of the gold mineralisation at Western Queen South.

“The discovery of a potentially new mineralised lode at Western Queen South is good news and highlights the prospectivity of the Western Queen Project.

“We look forward to receiving the results from the current hole and from future drilling programmes as we look to grow the resource base at Western Queen.

“The proximity of the project to three gold processing mills – Checkers, Tuckabianna and Dalgaranga – gives Western Queen a strong advantage over projects which would require a new processing plant to be built to extract the gold.”

Mr Harold presented the latest news from Western Queen as well as Rumble’s Earaheedy project– one of the world’s largest zinc sulphide discoveries in the past decade, at the Noosa Mining Conference last week.
