WHEN it comes to us Aussies, there’s a lot of things tourists find, well, terrifying.
Kangaroos get into boxing matches on suburban streets, we class boardies and thongs as perfectly acceptable semi-formal wear, and our signature dish is a jar of bitter yeast extract.
But after thousands of Aussies signed a petition to change the Australian currency to ‘Dollarydoos’, Melbourne artist/total bloody legend Aaron Tyler decided to give our bank notes a makeover.
Because, y’know, Straya.
Seriously, who needs a bored-looking, Mona-Lisa-wannabe shot of Queen Elizabeth II on your fiver, when you can have the fabulous Dame Edna smiling brightly as you purchase your morning coffee?
And that Mary Reibey chick on your $20? Yeah nah, outta the way, Mazza. It’s Kath & Kim’s time to shine.
And best of all - Alf. Streuth me bloody flamin’ galah - someone needs to start a petition to get our legendary Alf Stewart on that $100 note.
