Coles shoppers will have the opportunity to score ‘free money’ this week as the supermarket giant cuts the cost of its MasterCard gift cards.
The offer, which will see the price of $100 and $250 Coles MasterCard gift cards cut by 10 per cent, will kick off on Wednesday and run for one week.
It means that customers can purchase a $250 gift card, which carries a $7 purchase fee, for $231.80 — a saving of $18.70.
The $100 gift card, which has a $5 purchase fee, will cost $94.50, meaning shoppers will have an extra $5.50 in their pocket.
There will be a purchase limit of five gift cards per customer.
It is the second time Coles has offered the promotion, and it claims thousands of shoppers took advantage when it first ran earlier this year.
Customers will not be restricted to using the gift cards at Coles, as they can be used wherever MasterCard is accepted.
Coles non-food general manager Jonathan Torr labelled the offer the “ultimate money-saving hack”.
“The beauty of this deal is that right now, there are many retailers having end of financial year sales,so customers can use a discounted MasterCard to get even bigger savings on already-reduced prices. It is the ultimate money-saving hack and you can use it to purchase pretty much anything you need,” Mr Torr said.
“It’s very simple to purchase a Coles MasterCard gift card and take advantage of this special, you just need to buy it in store. The cards are accepted anywhere that accepts MasterCard so the possibilities on what and where customers can save with this special are endless.
“Customers need to get in early because it’s only while stocks last and there are no rainchecks.”
