Production of Ford’s iconic Falcon ceases in 2016, and with it the Territory SUV. So slow are sales of the once best-selling sedan that pundits have tipped production to end early.

Yet here’s the next versions of both cars.
Spied out testing are the final Falcon and Territory. These are the development “mules” for the upgraded versions due to go on sale in November.
Though covered with “car bras”, a fresh look can be confidently predicted a new bonnet, bumper, boot lid and lights.
There’s no revolutionary engines at this late stage of the game though — the same ancient six cylinder is in most version though its thirst for petrol is reduced from 9.9 litres per 100km to 9.5
That’s the taxpayer’s return for the $34 million federal government grant in 2012.
