Click Frenzy: How to shop and where to find the best sales and deals, which could be elsewhere
This year’s Click Frenzy sale has been dubbed “the sale that stops a nation”. But those looking for a steal might find it elsewhere — and there’s one discount that’s not worth your time and money.

It’s been dubbed “the sale that stops a nation”, spruiking bargain basement prices and luring in millions of Aussie online shoppers.
But savvy consumers have been warned ahead of tomorrow’s Click Frenzy sales bonanza that the best deals could be hiding elsewhere.
More than 500 retailers will take part in the event kicking off at 7pm AEDT, which offers discounts as great as 99 per cent across several categories, including travel, fashion, homewares and electrical items.
But with a limited number of items, and with the risk of IT issues that have plagued the sale in the past, some bargain hunters may be left disappointed.

Despite this, shopping guru Kathy Sheeran of Shopping Confessions said there are a number of things to watch out for during the 24-hour sale.
And for those who miss out, other stores will be offering pre-Christmas deals, according to the shopping expert.
“The retailers who are on board actually have to pay to be a part of it, so not all retailers get involved,” Ms Sheeran said.
She said just because a store wasn’t taking part in the event, didn’t mean they wouldn’t be offering some competitive discounts.
“Shoppers should make sure they subscribe to the email lists of their favourite stores and keep an eye on their inbox in the lead up to 7pm tomorrow,” she said.
“If they’re smart, they’ll be sending out promotions. I’m getting newsletters non stop about everybody having a sale, and this is going to happen right through November.”
Ms Sheeran explained that consumers would also get to indulge in traditionally American shopping events, which are gaining ground in Australia, such as November 23’s Black Friday. Retailers will also be tempting shoppers with Cyber Monday offers, starting November 26.
“I know quite a few retailers jumping on the bandwagon which is fantastic for the consumer. In the case of Black Friday, some stores are running massive four-day sales, including Myer, The Good Guys, Harvey Norman, and Amazon Australia.
But Ms Sheeran explained her favourite shopping hack were cashback websites, where she had made $2000 across the past 18 months.
“They’re free to join, and there’s a few players in the market - Cashrewards is the largest in Australia,” she said.
“You can earn anywhere from one to 40 per cent cash back, on both full-ticket prices and sale items. Then, you can transfer it to your nominated bank account and spend it how you wish.
“It’s not points or credit, it’s actual cash.”
The shopping guru said there was no catch, with the retailer paying a comission to the cash back website, which was then split with the buyer.
For those wanting to get involved in Click Frenzy’s shopping madness — which is offering $100 cash back for the first 200 shoppers who spend more than $500 — Ms Sheeran said planning was imperative to avoid becoming overwhelmed.
“Shop with a list. Be organised - it will save you money and it will save you impulse buying,” she said.
Those looking to save some cash were best to avoid anything with a 20 per cent discount, according to Ms Sheeran, who said that sort of price cut was now the new normal for Aussie retailers.
“If everyone is offering 20 per cent at these big sales, it’s a waste of time. We’re going to start seeing 30 to 80 per cent off,” she said.
“And I know everyone goes crazy buying Christmas presents at these events, but it’s a great time to buy investment pieces, such as great quality homewares. You can even use to buy kids clothing, one or two sizes up for next year.”
Click Frenzy will also have 99 per cent-off deals through their Go Wild Treasure Hunt, which allows those who subscribe to their email list to access exclusive deals by being the fastest to answer quiz questions as they shop.
But you have to be quick, Ms Sheeran said, who said stock numbers on the items would be tight.
“I’ve never known someone to actually buy something through the Treasure Hunt,” she said.
Click Frenzy managing director Grant Arnott said interest in the sale was huge.
“The interest from the Australian public continues to grow exponentially each year. We attracted a staggering 2.2m visitors last year and search interest was even bigger than Black Friday,” Mr Arnott said.
The sale will begin at 7pm (AEDT) Tuesday, November 13, and run until 7pm AEDT Wednesday, November 14.
