Bunnings will replace your plants if you accidentally kill them

If you’re a terrible green thumb and your plants die in the first 12 months of taking them home, Bunnings Warehouse will replace them.

A little-known Bunnings policy has plant lovers rejoicing.

Social media was set abuzz when a woman posted about the policy on Facebook recently.

All of Bunnings’ plants are guaranteed for 12 months, and you can return them if they die or you’re not happy with them, as long as you have the receipt.

“I am a plant killer, no green thumb here. I will remember now to photocopy my receipts and take a picture of the plant just in case,” one person wrote on the woman’s post.

Others said they’d be too embarrassed to return a plant if they’d killed it.

One person said they had returned a plant that died.

The policy only applies for plants and not seedlings.

It’s part of their “perfect plant promise”.

A woman who said she was a Bunnings employee said customers were also advised to return their plant in the same pot if possible.

“I won’t say they will definitely refund/exchange as there are factors that need to be discussed in store first and it’s on a plant-by-plant basis,” she said.

“Only the expert/manager can make those decisions.”
