LAST year people spent more than $681 million on Valentine’s Day gifts for their pets.
This year loved up puppies are set to benefit beyond February 14 with the launch of a new dog-friendly diner on February 23.
Albert Park’s newest eatery, Greenfields, will include a dog menu, making it the perfect spot for doggie dates.
Dog-friendly menu items include bone broth for puppies which comes in frozen in blocks for summer and warmed slightly in winter, kangaroo pretzels, veggie burger patties, lamb puff crispies, crisp pigs ears, chewy fish twists with sweet treats including yoghurt buds and puppacinos.
Greenfields founder Simon Digby says dogs are such a significant part of Melbournites lifestyles, that they felt they had to cater to the four-legged customers.
“In Melbourne, pets are treated like royalty — from elaborate grooming and fashion to food,” Mr Digby said.
“If you’re a clean eater, likelihood is your furry friend is too so it seemed only fitting to include a Puppy Picnic dog offering on the Lakeside Eatery menu.”
The new alternate venue will also include an integrated health and wellness sanctuary that incorporates a holistic eatery, yoga studio and a social, corporate and lifestyle events space.
Greenfields officially opens on Thursday, February 23.
