Woolworths Group gives thanks to firefighters with special discount

Thousands of tireless volunteer firefighters who have witnessed death, destruction and miracles continue to be praised as they risk their lives to battle bushfires across the state.
To help shine a light, the Woolworths Group is showing their appreciation by offering a 10 per cent discount to all volunteer fighters and emergency services teams that can be used across Woolworths supermarkets, Woolworths Metro, BIG W, Dan Murphy’s and BWS stores from today until January 31.
Woolworths Group CEO, Brad Banducci, said the company is humbled and grateful to the volunteer firefighters and emergency service teams who have been risking their lives in the bushfires during this challenging period.
“This discount offer is a gesture of our thank you to them for their tireless service all year round to the community,” he said.
The discount applies to in-store purchases only when emergency services identification cards are shown.
To date, the Woolworths Group and its customers have raised $3.5 million dollars for The Salvation Army which provides support for Australians doing it tough during natural disasters.
