Truck driver charged over Calder Freeway crash that killed 2-year-old
A man has been charged over the fatal Calder Freeway crash earlier this month that left a two-year-old girl dead.

A truck driver has been charged with culpable driving causing death in relation to a multi-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a two-year-old girl earlier this month
The grain truck the 42-year-old was driving was involved in a collision with a number of vehicles on the Calder Freeway, northwest of Melbourne, around 2.30pm on December 6.
Travelling as a rear passenger in one of the vehicles was a two-year-old Caulfield South girl who died at the scene.
Three other people from the same vehicle – a 35-year-old man, a 37-year-old woman and a one-year-old girl – were taken to hospital.
The woman remains in hospital in a stable condition, while the man and girl have since been released.
A 62-year-old South Melbourne man was trapped under the truck until he was freed by emergency services.
He was taken to hospital and has since been released.
Two people in another vehicle escaped serious injury.
The driver of the truck will face Melbourne Magistrates Court on May 18, 2022.
