‘Tragic’: Toddler fighting for life after being found unresponsive in Crown Melbourne hotel pool

A two-year-old boy is fighting for life after being found unresponsive in a Crown hotel pool late last night.

A toddler is fighting for life after being found in a Crown Melbourne hotel pool late on Friday night.

Emergency services were called to Whiteman St in Southbank about 10pm following reports a child had been unresponsive in the pool.

The toddler was given medical assistance at the scene before being taken to the Royal Children’s hospital in a critical condition.

Police are investigating the circumstances of the near-drowning.

On Saturday, Crown Resorts confirmed that the incident happened at their hotel.

“Crown is saddened to confirm that this tragic incident happened on our premises,” a Crown spokeswoman said.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, and out of respect for them, no further comment will be made.

“Crown is assisting with all investigations related to this incident.”
