Three soccer fans to fight Nazi symbol charges

Three men charged with displaying Nazi symbols during a highly-charged soccer match at Parramatta’s Commbank Stadium last year have pleaded not guilty.

Three men will battle allegations they displayed a Nazi symbol during a football match at Parramatta’s Commbank Stadium last year.

Nikola Gasparovic, 45, Dominik Sieben, 24, and Marijan Lisica, 44, were charged and ordered to face court earlier this year after an investigation into alleged crowd behaviour during last year’s Australia Cup final in Sydney’s west.

Police pored over broadcast footage and CCTV vision after a highly-charged match between Sydney United 58 and Macarthur FC on October 1 last year.

Mr Gasparovic, Mr Sieben and Mr Lisica were charged with knowingly displaying a Nazi symbol without an excuse.

On Wednesday, all three pleaded not guilty in Parramatta’s Local Court.

Solicitor Enis Erdem was in court to enter not guilty please on behalf of Mr Gasparovic and Mr Lisica

Mr Sieben’s solicitor entered a not guilty plea by way of letter to the court.

All three men will return to court in June.
