The body of a man has been pulled from waters off Lennox Head in northern NSW.
Police had been searching the area on Sunday morning when they directed a team of police divers to a location near the northern end of Seven Mile Beach.
Officers then retrieved the body about 10.15am on Sunday.
While the body was yet to be formally identified, officers believed him to be a 19-year-old man reported missing while swimming at Lennox Head about 6pm on Friday, NSW Police said.
“The man’s family was at the beach this morning and has been provided with support by local police,” a spokesperson said.
“Police thank members of the Lennox Head-Alstonville Surf Life Saving Club, Marine Rescue NSW, the Westpac Helicopter crew, and the local community.”
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
