Notorious Porsche driver Richard Pusey tells court he doesn’t agitate people for ‘fun and games’

Notorious Porsche driver Richard Pusey has made an interesting claim after fronting court for a bail application.

What happens when you are charged with a crime?

Notorious Porsche driver Richard Pusey has told a court that they don’t agitate people for “fun and games”.

Dressed in prison greens with hair in a ponytail, Pusey appeared via video link in the Sunshine Magistrates Court on Thursday and applied for bail.

The 44-year-old is facing two counts of using a telecommunications device to cause offence and two of committing an indictable offence on bail.

The former mortgage broker allegedly posted a Google review of a Porsche dealership’s website that included an image of a police officer killed in the horror Eastern Freeway crash in 2020.

An unrepresented Pusey told the court that the bail support program they were assessed for was “generally for drug addicts and alcoholics”.

Pusey – who uses they/them pronouns – explained they were not taking some medications while on remand because of access issues.

“I don’t want to be dependent on anything, I’m not a drug addict and I never have been,” they told the court.

The Porsche driver also told the court that they disagreed with a report describing them as an “aggressive person”.

“I don’t agree … I’m not an aggressive person, I’m a defensive person,” Pusey said.

“I don’t run around and attempt to agitate people for the sake of fun and games. I don’t feel there’s anything wrong with being a defensive person.”

The magistrate told Pusey that she would take into consideration their arguments.

“I am still concerned about risk,” magistrate Michelle Mykytowycz told them.

Police allege Pusey made the post a few days after a state memorial service held at Marvel Stadium to remember the lives of Leading Senior Constable Lynette Taylor, Senior Constable Kevin King and Constables Josh Prestney and Glen Humphris.

Pusey was previously sentenced to 10 months jail after pleading guilty to the rare charge of outraging public decency for filming the aftermath of the crash that killed the four police officers.

The magistrate said she would hand down her decision on Pusey’s bail on Monday morning.
