A jilted “sugar baby” who was ordered to pay her ex-lover $150,000 for defamation could be hauled back into court. Here’s why.

A jilted “sugar baby” ordered to pay her ex-lover $150,000 for calling him a “rampant sex scammer” has allegedly sledged him again in more posts on the WeChat app.

Property developer Barry Wang sued his former girlfriend Jessie Qin for defamation after she posted on WeChat he was a “rampant sex scammer” and a “scum man” after their relationship soured.

The 40-year-old single dad wanted $350,000 after he claimed his character was tarnished in the posts but Judge Julie Clayton instead ordered Ms Qin pay him $150,000 on December 3 last year.

But it was revealed during a costs hearing in the County Court on Friday Mr Wang wanted her hauled to court for a contempt proceeding after she allegedly called him a “scum bag king” on WeChat.

Ms Qin did not appear for the hearing.

The property developer’s lawyer Lucy Line requested the court make an order directing the registrar for a contempt summons after Ms Qin allegedly breached the permanent injunction.

The injunction restrained her from further publishing of claims because Judge Clayton found there was a “real risk” she would continue to make publications through media interviews or online posts.

In a new court document it’s alleged Ms Qin once again published defamatory messages on WeChat around 21 to 31 December last year.

She also published screenshots of private messages between the pair in a WeChat group called “Melbourne Real Estate” and messages were titled: “Exposing Scam Bag Male Barry Wang”, according to the document.

Ms Qin’s name appeared in the messages sent to the group and clearly identified Mr Wang, it reads.

Barry Wang was awarded $150,000 and was seeking additional costs after his ex-girlfriend defamed him in a series of posts on WeChat.

“Old scum bag male, I am not worried about exposing you because who knows how many girls you have deceived in Melbourne, I am not the only one,” one of the translated messages reads.

“Do not think you can clear your name after winning the court case. Law is law, and ethics is ethics, it is just ashamed that law cannot restrain you scum bag king!,” another reads.

Ms Line labelled the woman’s conduct in the case as “outrageous” when explaining their cost submissions.

“I don’t say that lightly,” she said telling the court Ms Qin clearly and persistently rejected all reasonable offers to settle the case prior to the trial.

Her client unnecessarily incurred costs because of this and the barrister also argued the real estate agent’s conduct during the trial prolonged the hearing.

In her decision last year the judge said the property developer and single father would have been “shocked and mortified” when he read the online posts accusing him of being manipulative, controlling and someone who got women drunk to have sex with them.

“The publications carry a ­severe sting, including as they do allegations of serious, indeed criminal, conduct,” Judge Clayton said.

She said the evidence did not support the woman’s claims.

Ms Qin’s main motivation was malice and she wanted to “get back” at her former lover as retribution or retaliation for her hurt feelings, the judge said.

She was “seeking revenge” when she created a fake Tantan dating account using Mr Wang’s photo with the words: “My name is Barry Wang, I am scum, scum, scum,” Judge Clayton ruled.

During the 10-day trial there were tears and tantrums as details of their dramatic relationship became public.

The court heard the pair met on dating site Seeking Arrangement which was promoted as a place for “sugar babies” to meet a wealthy “sugar daddy” in April 2019.

Ms Qin represented herself in the case and broke down when she cross-examined her former lover about their relationship.

Judge Clayton will hand down her decision on costs and a potential contempt order at a later date.
