A heartbreaking text sent by a 15-year-old Queensland boy who died after being thrown from his electric scooter has surfaced as tributes flow for the beloved teenager.

Logan teen Lochlen Corcoran died in hospital on Sunday, five days after he crashed his e-scooter on his way to school at Yarrabilba State Secondary College.

The crash left him with serious head injuries, his family reporting they lost him four times in hospital, but he kept fighting until the end.

“My beautiful baby boy grew his angel wings at 3.24pm today, surrounded by all that loved him,” his mum Gemma Corcoran wrote on Facebook on Sunday.

“I love you mummy’s baby boy. You put up the biggest fight and tried your hardest.”

In February this year, Lochlen’s friend, Queensland teenager Ricky Blume, also died following an accident – his dad, Chris Blume, remembering him as “a typical 12yr old, full of energy and his attitude gave 20+yr olds a run for their money”.

Hearing the news of Lochlen’s death, Mr Blume posted to a Facebook page he created in memory of his son on Sunday, sharing the final text Lochlen had sent to Ricky before his son’s sudden death.

“I LOVE YOU I NO YOU MAY NOT SEE THIS OR ANYTHING BUT I LOVE YOU I MAY NEVER SAY IT TO YA BUT YOUR MY SPEEDY BOY AND YOUR NOT READY TO LEAVE MY BROTHER WE’RE ALL GONNA MISS YOU SO MUCH LIKE MY LITTLE BROTHER,” Lochlen wrote.

“DON’T GO YET MY BOY.”

Mr Blume, who offered his condolences to the Corcorans, said he hoped no other family would have to experience losing a child.

“Ricky now has a friend to play with again … in heaven,” he said.

“Thoughts are with the family.”

Mrs Corcoran said her son loved his family and friends more than anything else and “welcomed anyone and everyone with open arms”.

“He was loved by everyone that knew him and will be sorely missed by everyone,” she said.

Family friend Nakita Haycock said Lochlen “kept fighting and held on like the strong boy we know he is”.

Ms Haycock has set up a GoFundMe page to support the family and is hoping to raise $20,000.

“We got the call that nobody wanted to hear. We were told that we needed to come say goodbye as Lokie was not going to be coming home,” she wrote on the page, which has already raised more than $10,000.

“Rest in peace beautiful boy. You will never be forgotten. You will live on forever in our hearts.”

The teenager’s former football club, Browns Plains Bears RLFC, also paid tribute, sharing the GoFundMe page on Facebook.

“Rest In Peace to former Bears player, Lochlen. Condolences to Lockie’s family and friends,” the club wrote on Monday.

It has not yet been revealed what caused the crash, but police have confirmed no one else was involved.

The teenager was riding on a footpath when he fell and hit his head, bystanders rushing to his aid before he was taken to Queensland Children’s Hospital.

Police confirmed with The Courier-Mail that he was not wearing a helmet.

Anyone with information or relevant footage which could assist in the investigation is being urged to contact police.
